Meadow Manor is a beautiful and evocative book on Rachel Ashwell’s new English country home in Somerset, for followers of Shabby Chic and those who aspire to live the country dream. Rachel’s intentions were to decorate her home Meadow Manor sympathetically to the historical values and authentic details of the 17th-century farmhouse and treat its venerable old bones with respect. Much of her furniture transitioned seamlessly from California and Texas to Somerset?much-loved treasures found their place, miraculously and magically. The book explores every room of the house, beginning with the large country kitchen, the cosy sitting rooms and Rachel’s studio. These are followed by four bedrooms, Rachel’s bedroom, boudoir and bathroom, a laundry room and, up in the attic, a dedicated home for her treasured collection of linens and vintage textiles. All have been sensitively renovated, with many a story behind the decorative decision-making process. Rachel’s home also includes a beautiful garden, a cluster of barns and a guest cottage for family and friends to immerse themselves into her whimsical world. Meadow Manor is a true labour of love, which will inspire readers who dream of creating their own country retreat.

In The Propagation Handbook, plant stylist Hilton Carter reveals how to grow and increase your own plant family by propagating existing plants.

Not only a plant lover, Hilton is passionate about propagation, the process of growing a brand new healthy and happy plant from part of an existing one. In this, his fifth book, Hilton talks us through the process of propagating houseplants and explains all the necessary techniques, from the very simplest to more complex methods, such as air layering and grafting. He describes which method to use for different types of plant, and lists essential tools for the process. In Hilton’s words: “You hear so much about plant ‘parenthood’, but knowing how to propagate and then watching as your little plant takes shape and develops into a full-grown plant is the very definition of this.”

In Romantic Irish Homes, bestselling author Robert O’Byrne celebrates Irish houses with an abundance of character and personality.

Quixotic, often whimsical and definitely quirky, they provide a sanctuary from the Irish climate, which can be cold and damp. No wonder, therefore, that over the centuries Ireland’s domestic architecture and interior design have developed a distinctive personality in which colour and vivacity are highly prized. Romantic Irish Homes presents 15 of the finest examples of the Irish home, each one of them distinctive yet sharing the same unique spirit. From ancient castles to sturdy Georgian manors and modest farmhouses, the homes featured here offer a unique insight into the Irish temperament and an exploration of a style of decoration that, while adapted to meet 21st-century demands, still retains an historic integrity. Romantic Irish Homes is every bit as charming and memorable as the Irish people themselves.

First published in 2013, this is a new edition.
