Description
A very unusual family lives in Vinegar Street, among the weeds and rubbish. There’s Poppy with a figure like a lamp-post, dressed all in black, her mother FudgeMa, Auntie Bruiser and Uncle Larry who all have a passion for kippers and vindaloo. Oneday a new neighbour moves into the street: a certain Mandy Nylon. With her girlish wiggle and her painted nails she sets about improving the neighbourhood. Poppy, who makes friends with Mandy’s misunderstood son Rocky, is the only person to be totally underwhelmed by Mandy’s obvious charms …
